Copper nuts are mainly made of materials including H59 brass, H62 brass, C3604 environmentally friendly brass, lead-free brass, and pure copper, with brass being the most widely used.

 

1. H59 and H62 Brass (Leaded Brass): The most common copper nut materials, belonging to copper-zinc alloys, containing a small amount of lead to improve machinability.

They possess good mechanical strength, electrical conductivity, and corrosion resistance, making them suitable for automatic lathe machining at a relatively low cost.

Widely used in faucets, valves, electrical switches, and general injection molded parts.

 

2. C3604 Environmentally Friendly Brass: RoHS compliant lead-free free-machining brass with superior environmental performance, suitable for export products or applications with high environmental requirements.

High machining precision and clear surface knurling, commonly used in embedded nuts in precision electronic equipment and medical instruments.

 

3. Lead-Free Brass: Developed to replace traditional leaded brass, avoiding the harmful effects of lead on the environment and human health.

While slightly less machinable than H59, its processing optimizations allow it to meet most industrial needs, making it suitable for drinking water-related components.

 

4. Pure Copper (Red Copper): With a copper content exceeding 99.5%, it boasts excellent electrical and thermal conductivity, but is relatively soft and has lower mechanical strength.

It is primarily used for connectors requiring extremely high conductivity or for special sealing gaskets, and is less commonly used directly for structural fasteners.
