A bolt consists of two parts: a head and a shank.

Where they are located:

Head: This is the tip of the bolt. Common shapes include hexagonal, round, square, and countersunk heads. It is used by tools (such as wrenches and screwdrivers) to apply torque for tightening.

Screw: This is the cylindrical part with external threads. It passes through the through-hole of the parts being connected and mates with a nut to achieve a secure connection.

This structure allows the bolt and nut to mate, firmly connecting two parts with through-holes, and it can be disassembled when needed, making it a detachable connection method.
